Our Services
Paragon Health provides specialized evaluation and treatment for pain conditions, spine disorders, and injuries. Our specialists consider each patient's individual needs to identify appropriate treatment options, from conservative therapies and minimally invasive procedures to surgery when indicated.
Pain Management
Our pain management specialists evaluate and treat a range of acute and chronic pain conditions. Treatment options are tailored to each patient's symptoms, medical history, and needs, with an emphasis on targeted, minimally invasive procedures when appropriate.
Chronic back and neck pain · Neuropathy · Sciatica · Joint-related spinal pain
Brain & Spine
Our specialists evaluate and treat conditions affecting the spine, discs, and nerves. We offer a range of non-surgical treatments and surgical options when appropriate, with recommendations guided by each patient’s condition, clinical findings, and individual treatment needs.
Herniated & Bulging Discs · Spinal Stenosis · Spondylolisthesis · Spinal Nerve Compression · TBI
Injury Care
We evaluate pain and spine-related conditions resulting from motor vehicle collisions, workplace incidents, sports injuries, and other accidents. Our approach focuses on identifying the source of symptoms and determining appropriate treatment options based on the nature of the injury.
Motor vehicle collisions · Slip & fall · Sports injuries · Work-related injuries
PAIN MANAGEMENT PROCEDURES
We provide a range of interventional treatments for acute and chronic pain associated with spinal conditions and nerve damage, including:
-
Trigger point injections target tight, tender areas within muscles that contribute to localized pain and muscle tension. Medication is injected into the affected area to help reduce discomfort and improve mobility.
-
Corticosteroid injections deliver anti-inflammatory medication into a joint or bursa to help reduce inflammation and relieve pain associated with certain musculoskeletal conditions.
-
PRP therapy uses a concentrated preparation of platelets derived from the patient's own blood, which is injected into a targeted area. It may be considered for certain muscle, joint, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
-
These injections target the ligaments located between the bones of the spine. They may be considered when these structures are suspected of contributing to localized neck or back pain.
-
Nerve blocks involve injecting medication near specific nerves to help evaluate or manage pain. Depending on the targeted nerves and the purpose of the procedure, they may provide temporary relief or help identify the source of symptoms.
-
Facet joints are small joints between the bones of the spine that help support movement and stability. Injections into or around these joints may help evaluate and manage neck or back pain associated with facet joint conditions.
-
Epidural steroid injections deliver anti-inflammatory medication into the space surrounding spinal nerves. They may help relieve pain associated with irritated nerves, including certain causes of sciatica and radiating arm or leg pain.
-
The sacroiliac joints connect the lower spine to the pelvis. Injections into these joints may help determine whether they are contributing to lower back or buttock pain and may provide temporary symptom relief.
-
Medial branch blocks involve injecting local anesthetic near the nerves that carry pain signals from the spinal facet joints. These injections help determine whether facet joint pain may be contributing to symptoms and whether radiofrequency ablation may be appropriate.
-
Radiofrequency ablation uses controlled heat to interrupt targeted nerves that transmit pain signals, commonly those associated with spinal facet joints. For appropriately selected patients, this procedure may provide longer-lasting pain relief, although results vary.
SURGICAL SPINE TREATMENTS
Kyphoplasty
A minimally invasive procedure used to treat certain spinal compression fractures. Bone cement is injected into the affected vertebra to help stabilize the fracture and reduce pain.
Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion
A procedure that removes a damaged disc in the neck to relieve pressure on nearby spinal nerves or the spinal cord. The affected vertebrae are then fused to help stabilize the spine.
Laminectomy & Decompression
Relieves pressure on the spinal cord and nerves by removing bone or tissue that narrows the spinal canal, helping address symptoms of spinal stenosis and nerve compression.
Spinal Cord Stimulation
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is an advanced neuromodulation therapy that blocks pain signaling.
-
A temporary procedure that places stimulation leads near the spinal cord to evaluate whether spinal cord stimulation may help manage chronic pain. The trial allows patients and providers to assess the response before considering permanent implantation.
-
A procedure to implant a spinal cord stimulation system, consisting of leads placed near the spinal cord and a pulse generator that delivers electrical impulses to modify pain signals and help manage certain chronic pain conditions.
-
These procedures may be recommended when device components require adjustment, malfunction, or replacement, or when treatment needs change.
How SCS Works
SCS uses a small, implanted device to deliver mild electrical impulses to the spinal cord. These pulses help black pain signals before they reach the brain, which can reduce the perception of pain.
Targeted Relief
Helps interrupt pain signals at the source.
Drug-Free
Reduces dependency on pain medications.
